TESSI crossborder AWARD: registration is open

05.12.2013 -

There is time until February 14 to submit one's candidacy for the 2013-2014 TESSI crossborder AWARD for the schools and students that most stand out in the field of environmental sustainability by designing and implementing projects to reduce consumption and increase recycling.

The award is open to all students and public and private secondary schools in the Programme area, which comprises the provinces of Trieste, Gorizia, Udine, Pordenone, Venice, Rovigo, Padua, Treviso, Ferrara, and Ravenna in Italy and the Slovenian regions of Goriška, Obalno-kraška, Gorenjska, Osrednjeslovenska, and Notranjsko-kraška.

Prizes are awarded in three categories: schools, students (individuals/groups), videos and multimedia animation (digital productions, short films, videogames, animation, software applications, and visual arts in general) focusing on the topics of energy savings and sustainability.

The three top finishers in each category will win prizes including technical/teaching material for schools (projectors, PCs, digital microscopes, etc.) and multimedia equipment (video cameras, cameras, tablets, etc.). Additionally, the best videos and animations will be published on the project's website, You Tube channel, and Facebook page.

Signing up is a two-step process: first comes registration - to be sent by 14 February 2014 - in which candidates state their intent to participate, then comes the presentation of the project itself, which must be submitted by 30 May 2014.

Documents and information on participation modalities are available on the project website: www.tessischool.eu.  For more information, write to: tessi@area.trieste.it

TESSI is a project funded by the European Regional Development Fund and by national funds within the framework of the Cross-border Cooperation Operational Programme Italy-Slovenia 2007-2013 and is the result of a partnership between AREA Science Park (coordinator), Immaginario Scientifico, the University of Ferrara, the Slovenski E-Forum, and the University of Nova Gorica.
