Saving and producing energy using environment-friendly
technologies, even better if from renewable sources. This key goal
of European policies concerns society as a whole: citizens,
businesses, institutions, research organizations. There are many
initiatives and projects dealing with these topics that are being
carried out all over the continent, and AREA Science
Park will be at EOS, the Exposition of
Sustainability held at the Udine Fairground, to present those in
which the Trieste-based science park is involved.
Three appointments are
scheduled on May 17th: the first is an
international conference organized as part of the Strategic
Project MARIE -Mediterranean Building: Rethinking for
Energy Efficiency Improvement, funded by the European program MED.
The conference will focus on how public administrations can support
innovation by contracting R&D services to companies competing
to develop new technologically complex or cutting-edge solutions,
for instance, in the energy efficiency market. By way of this
pre commercial procurement procedure, public
administrations would become the driving elements and first users
of new promising solutions.
The second appointment involves the innovative technologies
outlined in ENERPLAN, the Energy
Plan co-funded by AREA and the Italian
Ministry for the Environment. The solutions developed in this plan
to produce energy in a more efficient and environment-friendly way
will be presented to administrators, entrepreneurs and other
stakeholders in the energy sector: eight power plants displaying
different innovative technical features and functioning also
as technological development and industrial testing labs.
The third and last appointment on the agenda of the AREA Science
Park Day at EAOS - where AREA will continue to be present with its
130-square meter stand - aims at creating B2B opportunities between
companies coming from Mediterranean countries, with a view to
encouraging technical and business collaboration in the field of
energy efficient buildings. This technology
dating event is promoted by Enterprise Europe
Network , in collaboration with the MARIE
project. The over one hundred members of the Network
are companies (such as Telecom and Siemens), research centers,
university departments, international agencies, and Petrol, a
major Slovenian corporation operating in the oi&gas industry as
well as in the field of renewable energy.
