Renewable energy, chemical engineering, genetics, but also
studies on methods for freezing food, forestation systems and
protection of typical products. These are just some of the subjects
being studied by the delegation of researchers from the Province of
Vojvidina - all belonging to the most prestigious scientific
institutions in Novi Sad - on a mission in the Italian region to
get a closer look at the Friuli-Venezia Giulia model for science
and businesses: an event promoted by Informest in collaboration
with AREA Science Park and the Centre of Molecular Biomedicine.
The Vice Chairman of Informest Silvia Acerbi said: "This
initiative anticipates the launch of a true ' week of research and
innovation' in Novi Sad, which Informest will organize sometime in
the next few months, again in collaboration with AREA Science Park
and the Centre of Molecular Biomedicine.
Thanks to this project, financed by the Friuli-Venezia Giulia
Region, for the first time innovative companies and leading players
in technological and industrial research in our region will be
given the chance to make presentations to the public, scientific
institutions and the corporate system in Vojvodina, which, let us
not forget, is the most highly developed and dynamic region of
Serbia."
"Opening the AREA Science Park to the five Serbian researchers,
all active in the field of outstanding research and technological
development, is a significant step in the project to establish a
framework of technical and economic collaboration between
Friuli-Venezia Giulia and the most highly developed area in
Serbia", Gabriele Gatti, Director of Strategic Planning for the
Consortium, said. "With this significant intervention of direction
and guidance, AREA Science Park aims to transfer not only the
vision of targeted research for industrial purposes, but also the
way in which relations are managed between the scientific community
and the economic and productive fabric and organized and valorised
in the name of innovation".
"It is essential for the growth of a young economy" the Regional
Councillor in charge of International and Community Relations,
Federica Seganti, said, "to aim for technological and scientific
development, and for this reason the Friuli-Venezia Giulia Region
is a leading partner for emerging and economically reactive
companies in Vojvodina: the sharing of intense scientific activity
that is happening at such a high level in our area and in
particular at AREA Science Park in Trieste is also an excellent
opportunity for our companies. We have therefore to provide
incentives and promote protocols of cooperation as we work as an
intermediary for a country with new economic potential".
Vojvodina has devised a very ambitious, long-term scientific and
technological development plan, focused on certain strategic
sectors, such as renewable energy and biotechnology, and similarly
to specifications for collaboration and support, such as the
creation of a regional system of innovation, mobility and the
exchange of researchers and technological transfer for
companies.
