An agreement to develop transnational research, technology
transfer, business networking, and knowledge-intensive projects in
the ICT sector: these are the goals of the Memorandum of
Understanding signed today at the Padriciano campus of AREA Science
Park by Bojan Dremelj,, CEO of the RC IKT - Razvojni
center za informacijske in komunikacijske tehnologije (Development
center for ICT), part of which is Kranj ICT technology park,
and Roberto della Marina, Vice-President of the AREA Science Park
Consortium in Trieste.
Also in attendance were Domen Bole, Head of the ICT technology
park within RC IKT, and Alojz Hudobivnik, product marketing manager
of ISKRATEL, the key-stone ICT corporation of RC IKT; and on behalf
of AREA Science Park Enzo Moi, General Director and Fabrizio
Rovatti, Director of the business incubator Innovation Factory.
The groundwork for the Memorandum, which will have a duration of
three years, was set a few months ago during a visit by an AREA
delegation to the Kranj park. The core idea is to promote and
support the emergence of new international business projects in the
ICT sector involving the companies based in the two science
parks.
In order to make collaborative efforts immediately effective,
the Slovenian delegation met with representatives from companies
based in the park, and who are making headway in the market thanks
to highly innovative products and services.
These include modeFinance, a company specialized in issuing
ratings for analyses, economic and financial evaluation, and credit
risk management; Athonet, a company specialized in developing
advanced systems for mobile telecommunications; Emaze, which
offers IT security solutions; O3, a University of Trieste spin-off
and an affiliate of the Tbs Group, which offers telemedicine
services; and Insiel Mercato, specialized in IT solutions for
public administration and health care management.
